Reinhard Pohorec

Reinhard Pohorec is a young enthusiastic professional in the world of fine drinks and food. At the age of 26 he has gained wide recognition as international expert on everything related to smell, taste, aroma and flavour, always with a particular focus on fortified wines and especially those from Andalucia. Starting his “spirits journey” via the WSET Diploma in Wines and Spirits, Pohorec was awarded the title Sherry Educator by the Consejo Regulador in Jerez, Certified Advisor of Spirits, Mixology Newcomer of the Year, Sake Sommelier and World Class Bartender of the Year 2014 Austria. Having created the independent company “Reinhard Pohorec e.U. - spirits journey”, he is a polymath working closely with distilleries, bodegas, restaurateurs and gourmet publications. Furthermore Pohorec' creative mind is involved in a new boutique bar project in Vienna, “Tür 7” where he can also be found behind the stick. Besides writing for several drink and gourmet publications, teaching and spreading word of the deep love and respect for great produce and rich beverage history, is his live and passion.
